Experience a memorable cultural exchange through painting lessons!
There are many tours in Hoi An, but what makes us DIFFERENT is that we support a not for profit charity called Lifestart Foundation. Our tours give visitors the opportunity to meet local people from disadvantaged situations, many of whom have complex disabilities, and to engage in a respectful and considerate manner. You will receive a unique insight into their needs and learn how you can make a difference.
Learn the traditional art of Vietnamese painting! Your instructor, Sinh Trong, was previously a Lifestart Foundation recipient, who grew up in an orphanage. Through determination and with assistance from Lifestart Foundation, he was able to pursue his passion in art. Today, Sinh has his own art gallery and regularly gives back to the foundation, including art lessons.
A visit to the Lifestart Foundation guarantees an authentic and memorable cultural exchange as well as an opportunity to learn about the organisation. Meet with its members and see first hand how our products are made.
All proceeds from the tour will help fund further Lifestart Foundation philanthropic projects in Vietnam.
Classes are available at 9am or 2pm. Not recommended for children under the age of 10.
About the Host
The Lifestart Foundation is a grassroots, not-for-profit charity that helps disadvantaged Vietnamese people and their families to become self-sufficient. Founded in 2000, the Foundation applies a holistic approach to helping those in need through proven working programs and initiatives which are designed to effect a generational change. The team works to create sustainable and ongoing income streams for the disadvantaged via education and vocational training schemes. Those with complex disabilities are given improved opportunities through the Lifestart Foundation Workshop and the Lifestart Foundation Free Disability Community Centre. Assistance also comes in the form of safe accommodation, transportation, medical support and dental treatment.
